October at Ca' Paradiso: morning fog, woodland and honey

Here at Ca' Paradiso autumn doesn't simply arrive: it **introduces itself**. One morning you open the window and the valley has vanished under a blanket of fog. Above it, sunshine and silence. Below, a world waiting to wake up.
It's my favourite time of year, and I suspect many of our guests agree.
## The mornings
Coffee is drunk outside, with a blanket over the shoulders. The light is low and golden, the spiderwebs fill with dew and the woods change colour day after day. A slow breakfast, no rush and no notifications.
## The woodland
We have about one hectare of woodland, and this season there is always something to do: firewood to cut, paths to clear, branches to tidy. Guests who don't mind getting their hands dirty are welcome. Around here, work never runs out! 😄
## The honey
Our honey is natural and extracted by hand. No tricks, no hurry: what the bees made, straight into the jar.
## A black cat (he/she)
October is also Black Cat Awareness Month. A black cat lives here and appears when he/she feels like it, usually just when the fog is thickest. Beautiful, independent and, of course, lucky. 🐈⬛
## Nearby
A short drive away is **Monte Cucco** (1, 566 m), famous for free flight: paragliding and hang-gliding. Even just watching the pilots take off is worth the trip.
## Working from the countryside
After forty years in IT, I know a laptop can be opened in the middle of a meadow as well as anywhere else. If you want to leave the city without fully leaving work behind, get in touch and we'll talk.
